I've joined the fight against Parkinson's
I am fundraising in honour of my late Grandfather, John Parker, who had Parkinson's for the last 14 years of his life.
Grandpa was very accepting of his diagnosis, and he carried on living his life as best as possible. With the help of his very supporting family, especially his wife, Cynthia Parker aka Grandma. Even when it was difficult for him to move around, he was always trying to help anyone and everyone.
He loved his grandchildren no matter what, he was always interested in being involved with them, whether it would be with their sport or their academics. He was a man who wore his heart on his sleeve and was truly dedicated to his loved ones and his community.
After experiencing how difficult Parkinson's can be on someone, I wanted to help in anyway possible to make it easier for someone else fighting the disease. Which is why I chose to raise money for the charity.
Once the donation target is reached or in a month, I will be shaving my hair off.
